When a team has gone as far as it can, sell it. The sale pays out, a plaque goes on the wall, and every team you sell moves your company up the ranks, so all your teams earn more.

Is it an idle game or a racing game?

A bit of both. You don't drive: the races run on their own and pay whether you watch or not. Your job is the team — what to upgrade, who to sign, when to sell. Playing actively picks up prizes and gems; putting the phone down is part of the design.

Do I start in Formula?

No. Your first team is a motorcycle team with a 1970s café racer. Formula is your second team: it opens once your company value (everything your teams have earned) reaches its target, and founding it costs a fee of four hours of your bike team's income, paid from its cash. Formula then starts fresh. Rally is your third, founded free from the Formula map once company value reaches a higher target. Every team you own keeps earning; you watch one race at a time and switch whenever you like.

What happens while I'm away?

Your teams keep racing and your sponsors keep paying, up to a time limit. When you come back, a card shows what you earned, and you can watch an optional ad to double it. The limit grows as your company grows.

Is it free?

Yes, free to download and free to play to the end of the map. There are optional purchases — gem packs, a Starter Pack, a 28-day Pit Pass and No Ads among them — and optional ads that pay a reward. Scout odds are shown in the game before you scout.

Does it work offline?

Racing, upgrades and selling a team all work offline. Ads, purchases and scouting drivers need a connection.

Is it a licensed motorsport game?

No. The bikes, cars, circuits, teams and riders are all original — a fond nod to the history of two-wheel, open-wheel and rally racing. Race Chief isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any real championship.
